A Few Points in Favour of the Actions of Clint Lorance

We never leave a soldier behind! It is considered as the great moral motto of the US armed forces. But when it came to Clint Lorance, they have been found ignoring their own moral values. The great protectors were more than happy to feed him to the wolves even though they had enough evidences which prove him non-guilty.

To the pointed figures -

May be many people want to believe the US army’s claim that Clint Lorance may have killed unarmed civilians. But there is something which they do not realise.  A split of a second! That was the overall time in which Clint Lorance had to make a decision at that moment while standing in the enemy terrain. 

Close your eyes and imagine yourself in a hostile terrain. There are a few bikers, three to be exact speeding towards you. The local policemen are shouting out warnings for them to stop in their own language. But they still do not stop approaching you! What would you do then? If you are armed and are not sure of your own safety, what would you do then? Probably, you will do, what Clint Lorance did! Now tell, is it a wrong to file a petition to Free Clint?

Further Evidence – 

There are various loopholes in this case which point towards a gross prosecutorial misconduct and on the basis of which the Clint Lorance Petition has been filed. They are as follows –

• The US army claims that the area in question was an area infested by farmers. 

Truth – The area was abandoned by them long ago due to the various immoral activities of the dreaded Taliban's that they had to face daily. 

• The fellow soldiers claim that the motorcycle in question was some 600 feet away from them.

Truth – The motorcycle was definitely at a distance from the platoon but the men in question were not behaving normal. Despite of repeated warnings in the LOCAL DIALECT, they continued to approach toward the platoon.

• Nine members in his platoon testified against him. The platoon consisted of ten men that included Lt Clint Lorance himself also.

Truth – All the nine members were given immunity to testify against him.

• The platoon was said to be under no danger, immediate or otherwise. 

Truth – In a terrain that is currently barren because of the Taliban miscreant and where just a few days ago a US soldier was shot in the neck, it considerably sounds far-fetched.

• The two Afghanis who were killed were civilians.

Truth – Both the Afghani's were actually behaving in a suspicious way like the Taliban's do in that area. Moreover, even their third partner, who was captured alive, was tested positive for homemade explosives residue on his hands. This clearly indicated that they recently carried some homemade explosives. The US army knew about it and yet chose to hide this valuable evidence from Clint Lorance’s lawyers.

• Clint Lorance was hostile in his dealings with Afghans.

Truth – Though it would have been easier, Clint Lorance did not handed over the two Afghani's (whom they captured alive) to the local Afghan authorities who wanted to interrogate those prisoners. He feared for their life. Therefore, he kept them under his custody and later, considering it his responsibility, he sent them to US Brigade Headquarters so that they may avail detainee processing facility. It clearly indicates that he always has kept a humanly heart for the Afghani's also, while performing his duties there.

Lt. Clint Lorance is a true soldier and has never blamed anyone for his situation. Even when all his fellow soldiers pointed at him, he took the blame on himself simply because he believed, as a platoon leader, all the responsibility lies with him. Nowadays, a number of motions and appeals are being filed by different organisations and common people of United States to Free Clint Lorance, all in the hope of bringing justice to this American war hero, who is quite ideal in every sense.
